Emergency Kit Essentials

Jumper Cables. These are essential year around because you experience battery issues at any time. You may find yourself stuck on the side of the road with a battery issue, and a great way to get off the side of the road and to a nearby service center is to use jumper cables. Before using jumper cables, ensure you know how to use them properly.

Visibility Equipment. If you’re stuck on the side of the road day or night, visibility equipment is extremely useful in alerting other driver’s that they need to be aware of their surrounding. Visibility equipment uses reflective cloth or flare and should only be used in the case of an emergency.

Water and Snacks. May sure you have plenty of water and snacks in your vehicle to keep you hydrated and aware. If you find yourself stuck without power to your vehicle in the summer heat, water can help you stay alert if you find yourself waiting for an extended period of time.

Small Tool Kit. Sometimes you need a small tool kit to repair your vehicle that you can get to a nearby service center. If you get stuck at night, you also keep a flashlight in your toolkit so you can see what you’re working on or if you find yourself having to locate something in the dark.

First Aid Kit. No matter what causes you to experience a vehicle emergency or any other kind of issue, a first aid kit is necessary to have in your vehicle emergency kit. You should also make sure that you have sunscreen in your emergency kit. The summer heat isn’t always forgiving, so keep sunscreen in your vehicle so you don’t get sunburned.
